Jan Lembeck

Jan Lembeck participated in the Voluntary Year in Science at the Leibniz University Hannover in the research group of Prof. Dr. C. Walter from 2016 to 2017.

Following, he studied Pharmacy at the University Freiburg from 2017 to 2021. During this period, he spent five weeks in the drug development research group of Prof. Dr. A. Dömling in cooperation with the molecular pharmacology research group of Prof. Dr. A. Dolga at the University of Groningen as part of the Erasmus-Placement program. For his practical year, he first spent six months in a community pharmacy (11/21-04/22) and then six months in the virology research group of Prof. Dr. E. Hildt at the Federal Institute of Vaccines and Biomedicines (05/22-10/22). There, his diploma thesis focused on the effect characterization of a Src-kinase inhibitor on the Hepatitis-B-virus replication and release.

Next, he joined the gene therapy research group of Prof. Dr. D. Hampson at the University of Toronto for five months contributing to a Fragile-X-syndrome research project (11/22-03/23).

Since September 2023, he is a PhD student in the research group of Prof. Dr. H. Heerklotz focusing on the biophysical characterization and development of novel drug delivery systems.
